Things may not be great right now, they might even be devastating. I really don’t know what is going on in your life right now but if you’re anything like me—you’ve experienced some hard hitting blows to your self-esteem, family, friendships, relationships, job, dream or health. I really don’t know what you’re facing but I do know this…
It won’t last. Its only for a moment, though the moment feels like forever take heart to know that darkness must exist so that light can conquer it. Your conquering moment is just around the corner.
So, while you wait for the light to shine be comforted by this, God Almighty sees you and He knows it all. You don’t have to believe in Him (although I do) but He is true and He loves you. Give Him a try. I promise you won’t regret it.
My 2014 has started off increasingly rough but despite the darkness all around I see light, my Jesus is the Light guiding me and keeping me sane. Laugh if you will but I know that without Him being in this stormy life of mine I would not exist. I have learned that this life is not my own to live, I have given it all over to God and even when things look horrible and I cannot understand what is going on I cannot and will not give my thoughts victory over me. You know those thoughts, thoughts that say “it gets worse, go ahead and end it all” yeah those thoughts. The fact of the matter is that things can get worse but you do not have to go down that hill with them!
Proverbs chapter 18 verse 21 says
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
What this means is that what you say has power because what you say is what you believe and what you believe is what you act on. Think about it… think about all of those motivational speeches you’ve heard, the tapes you’ve listened to, the quotes of great men and women that have been recited to inspire action. Words have power!
For those who are considering or have even attempted suicide- DON’T DO IT! It is not worth missing the Light up ahead. That bully won’t always be there (little secret: that bully is actually an insecure person hoping that you will never recognize it)… that sickness cannot dictate how you view things because you have the makings of this generation’s inspiration! Your present circumstance cannot determine your life’s outcome, coal becomes a diamond, silver and gold are made BETTER by going through fire, talk about pressure and heat… Can you imagine how great you can be?!!! I can.
